Schroff (distributed in Australia by Dedicated Systems) claims its comprehensive range of certified standard products demonstrates its capabilities and safe operation on rail vehicles, in buildings and trackside. The company says that thanks to its modular platform concept, Schroff products can be quickly and easily adapted to meet individual requirements.

The products are technically functionality and ergonomic in appearance. The cabinets, cases and subracks are designed to protect the electronics they house with high levels of mechanical stability and resistance to shock and vibration.

Temperature measuring unit with CAN connection

The measuring unit MU-Thermocouple1 for temperature measurement is now available from Peak System (distributed in Australia by Embedded Logic Solutions). The TC1 Measuring Unit offers connections for 8 thermoelements for different temperature ranges (T, K, J) to be primarily used for measurement of temperatures with a minimum difference of 50°C against ambient temperature.

Measurement data can be pre-processed via an integrated microcontroller and transmitted via the CAN bus. The corresponding configuration is made using Windows software on a computer which is connected to the same CAN bus.

Using proven grommet technology from Souriau's extensive knowledge of harsh environments, the UTS connector with grommet garanties a discrete wire sealing rated to IP68/69K.

Sealing level : IP67 & IP69K

• A grommet with three sealing barriers capable of handling cable insulation diameters from 1.7 to 3.0 mm
• Each grommet cavity has a membrane that pierced only when a terminated wire is loaded :
  - No need of filler plug

32-channel isolated digital I/O modules

Advantech has introduced the ADAM-5053S and ADAM-5057S, two 32-channel high density digital input/output modules. The modules support high isolation and up to 2,500 VDC to avoid damage from different channels and protect system operation stability.

The ADAM-5053S is a digital input module providing an over-voltage protection of 35 VDC, while the ADAM-5057S is a digital output module and features operation time of 15 ms, insulation resistance of 1 GOhms at 500 VDC, and over-voltage protection with 70 VDC.
For critical environment applications requiring a high stability product with individual channel isolation protection, such as in factory automation, machine automation and intelligent automation, these ADAM modules are a good choice.
